Abigail Louise Smith, daughter of the founder of BCL Gemtyle and granddaughter to Lenoard G Howes who was recognised as a refined jeweller to high society, is a third-generation jewellery designer. Dating the family-run businesses back to 1853.

Her Father Derek started working in Hatton Garden in the mid-’60s supplying diamonds and gemstones to the Jewellery Trade working with clients all over the globe from Saudi Arabia, Qatar and to aristocracy in the United Kingdom.
In 1971 he purchased the business Bernard C Lowe and Co Ltd., whose reputation was renowned throughout the jewellery trade. BCL'S reputation was unsurpassed.

BCL prides itself in its vast knowledge of all aspects of the jewellery trade, from ethical mining to designing.

To this day we cut and polish selected gems to create bespoke pieces.

Equestrian is the next phase following this established family business. 

Which will be run by Abigail & Debra. 

Debra who is loved by the clients, joined BCL over 20 years ago. With a keen eye and a passion for jewellery design. Built upon the business reputation of high-quality jewellery manufacturing. Debra is using her skills and knowledge to elevate the next phase of the family-run business.

Now, she is using her many talents and has partnered up with Abigail L Smith.
